- Safe Supply & Bolt Downs -

Installing the right safe that suits your needs is important to us!

With safes coming in all shapes and sizes, installing the correct safe rating is vital.

Insurance Ratings

All security safes are given what is known as an 'insurance rating'. This will indicate the level of security and the maximum amount of cash that an insurance company will cover if stored in a safe overnight. The higher the grade, the higher the security, the more you're able to insure.

These insurance ratings are determined by several factors such as,

  • The resistance to the safe can be moved (Bolted down)

  • The thickness and strength of the walls and door

  • The complexity and security of the lock and bolt mechanism

  • General build quality

Not everyone uses a safe to store cash. This is why it is great to remember an insurance rating of £2,000 in cash is the equivalent of £20,000 worth of valuables. You can store up to 10 times the insurance rating.

It's always better to be safe than sorry, this is why we always recommend a rating of 30% higher than what you need currently. Some insurance companies have specific needs, this is why it's important to contact That Locksmith Fella before buying any safe so we can talk through all options.
